It seems that he left doing regular roles on television and began his final career in television as voices for various TV series and TV Movies.
It also seems that he was very rarely unemployed as well!
Ed Gilbert passed away in 1999 from lung cancer.
I remember Ed Gilbert best as Fenton Hardy in The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries in which I though that he made the perfect dad-detective. I also enjoyed him in the films 36 Hours and Johnny Got His Gun as well as the voice of Francois in The Rescuers Down Under.
