Johnny Seven

A prolific character actor, Johnny Seven was born John Anthony Fetto at Brooklyn, NY in 1926.

Seven was one of six children from an Italian American family. He was the only male out of the six children.

He served 2 1/2 years with the U. S. Army and appeared in several USO shows.

Johnny Seven was originally his nickname in the Army and he used the cool sounding name when he started his acting career.

Seven worked in the New York theater and live television performances before entering films and television guest spots.

He made his film debut in a non credited role in the film On The Waterfront.

In addition to his acting career, Seven has also written and directed television and films.

Active on television, Johnny Seven appeared in such programs as  Inner Sanctum, The Phil Silvers Show, Mike Hammer, The D. A's Man, Peter Gunn, The Lawless Years, The Lineup, Five Fingers, Tightrope, Man With A Camera, The Deputy, Lockup, One Step Beyond, Michael Shayne, Route 66, Bat Masterson, Surfside 6, The Roaring 20's, The Loretta Young Show, The Case Of The Dangerous Robin, Two Faces West, Whispering Smith, Everglades, 87th Precinct, Bronco, Adventures In Paradise, The Detectives, Hawaiian Eye, Death Valley Days, Ripcord, The Untouchables, Naked City, Temple Houston, Breaking Point, Bonanza, Gunsmoke, Batman, Get Smart, Jericho, The Wild Wild West, The Virginian, The FBI, Lancer, Here Come The Brides, Marcus Welby MD, The Rookies, Ironside, Amy Prentiss, Barbary Coast, Switch, The Rockford Files, Police Woman, Charlie's Angels, Vegas, Chips, Trapper John MD, Can't Hurry Love and Murder She Wrote.

Mr. Seven starred as Lt. Carl Reese from 1968 through 1975 on Ironside.

His wife's name was Edith and they were married from 1950 until his death. The couple had two children.

Johnny Seven passed away in 2010 from lung cancer.
