Tiny, dark haired, solidly built American actress with unusual, almost Oriental features. After a previous career insignificant in film terms she stunned the movie world in 1982 by playing a male Indonesian photographer in The Year Of Living Dangerously and winning an Academy Award.
She was born Linda Susanna Hunt at Morristown, NJ in 1945;
Linda. Hunt attended the Interlochen Arts Academy and became a charter member.
She was the only actor to have won an Academy Award for portraying a member of the opposite sex. She won Best Actress In A Supporting Role for her role as Billy Kwan in The Year Of Living Dangerously.
Hunt was nominated in 1984 for Broadway's Tony Award as Best Actress (play) for her role in End Of The World.
She has also had a successful career on television as well performing in the TV movie Basements. and other series and TV movies.

Linda Hunt is 4' 9" tall as has been diagnosed with hypopituitary dwarfism. Some sources state that she has Turner syndrome but this is not so.
She is an ambassador for Best Friends Animal Society.
She has lived since 1987 with her companion Karen Klein.
I enjoyed this actress very much in the film The Year Of Living Dangerously, but also in such other films as The Relic, Popeye, Dune, She Devil, Silverado and The Bostonians.
