Steven Ritch

Steven Ritch was an American actor and writer.

He was born at Providence, RI in 1921.

His career lasted from 1950 until 1962 and had 45 credits as an actor in both films and television

He was probably best known for the film The Werewolf (1956) as Duncan Marsh whereby after an automobile accident he was treated by two doctors with there experimental drug which caused disastrous effects.

Ritch served in World War Two and fought  on Guadalcanal in some of the worst battles.

After the war he planned to be a lawyer but got bitten by the acting bug and became an actor instead. He also became a writer as well.

He made several appearances on a number of  TV series:

The Lone Ranger - three
Broken Arrow - eleven
I Led Three Lives - two
The New Adventures Of China Smith - two

Ritch had several credits as a writer.

Hell On Devil's Island (1957) for screen play

Plunder Road (1957) for screen play

City of Fear (1959) as writer

Safe At Home (1962) as writer

Mr. Ritch worked on the following TV series as:

Hawaiian Eye (1960) for one story and one screen play

77 Sunset Strip (1960) for one story

Tightrope (1960) as a writer for two episodes

Tallahassee 700 (1961) for one story and one screen play

Adventures In Paradise (1962) as writer for one episode

Frontier Circus (1962) as writer for two episodes and story for one episode.

Steven Ritch passed away in July, 1995 at the age of 73 at Rogue River, Oregon.

I particularly enjoyed this actor in the films The Werewolf, Seminole Uprising, Massacre Canyon, Valley Of The Head Hunters and Plunder Road as well as many fine performances on various TV series.
