James Whitmore, Jr.

James Whitmore, Jr. is the son of the great character actor James Whitmore ( and one my all time favorites). He is an American character actor and director for television series.

He was born James Allen Whitmore III at Manhattan, NY in 1948.

Whitmore is probably best known for his role as Captain Jim Gutterman on the TV series Baa Baa Black Sheep.

He made his film debut in 1976 in the TV movie Hazard's People. His TV series debut was in 1976 in McMillan and Wife.

In addition to his acting career , he has also been very active in the direction area in television since the 1980's.

I enjoyed this actor as Capt.Jim Gutterman in the TV series Baa Baa Blacksheep as well as the films Force Of One, Firefighter, The Long Riders and Purple Hearts.
