Chestnut haired American actress, the forthright heroine in many a thriller and western, or the girl back home in war films.
Her original name was Jacqueline Wells and she was born in 1914 at Denver, CO. She was the daughter of a wealthy banker and oilman and was raised in Texas and also in Los Angeles after her parents divorce.
Ms. Bishop was a child actress from 1923 to 1926 and acted under her original name. When she continued on acting she still used her original name until 1941 when she got a contract from Warner Brothers and they decided for her new name to be Julie Bishop.
She was associated with many "B" movies over the years. She worked for Universal in "B' movies and acted under the name of Jacqueline Wells which included both silents and talkies.

She was married three times., one ending in divorce and the second one with the death of her husband Clarence Shoup.
Her third marriage was to William Bergin and the marriage lasted from 1968 until her death. She had two children from her second marriage.
Julis Bishop passed away in 2001 from pneumonia at age 87.
