Angels In Notting Hill (2015) as The Boss, Mr. President.

This actor was amazing. From 1947 until 2015 the IMDB shows 278 credits from the mediums of film and television.

In the latter part of his career he became  associated with the second trilogy of the Star War films , The Lord Of The Rings series and The Hobbit series.

Mr. Lee was working up until the time of his death at age 93.

He, along with Bela Lugosi, were the most famous of the Count Dracula character. However Mr. Lee performed this role many, many times in films. Lugosi played a vampire several times but not always as Dracula.

Mr. Lee was thought to have a very large library of books on the occult which he said that if he had four or five on the subject he was lucky.

Though many of his films were horror related, he also made a very fine Sherlock Holmes as well as being a good guy at times like in roles of priests, monsignors and cardinals..

Lee was active on both British and American television appearing in such programs as Chevron Hall Of Stars, Sailor Of Fortune, The Errol Flynn Theater, Assignment Foreign Legion, Ivanhoe, William Tell, Tales Of The Vikings, One Step Beyond, The Alfred Hitchcock Hour, The Avengers, Great Mysteries, Space 1999, Charlie's Angels, The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, The Tomorrow People, Tales Of Mystery And Imagination, The Odyssey and The New Adventures Of Robin Hood among others.

He was appointed in 1997 as a Commander Of The Order Of St. John.

In 2001 , as part of the Queen's birthday, he was made a Commander Of The British Empire in recognition of his contributions to drama.

Lee was knighted by Price Charles  but due to his advanced age he received his knighthood by standing rather than from the customary kneeling position.

The government of France made him a Commander Of The Order Of The Arts and Letters in 2011.

A most unusual award came from Trinity College Philosophical College when he was awarded the Bram Stoker Gold Medal of which Bram Stoker was a former president as well as the Collected Works Of MR James by the college's School Of English.

Lee was a very close friend of actor Peter Cushing and the two made several films together.

He was married to Gitte Lee since 1961 and the couple had one child.

An imposing figure at 6' 5", Lee and his wife  were among the 50 best dressed over age 50 couples selected by The Guardian in 2013.

Lee was a step cousin of Ian Fleming the author of the James Bond works. He was also a distant relative of American general Robert E. Lee.

Christopher Lee passed away in June of 2015 shortly after celebrating his 93rd birthday from respiratory and heart problems.

I enjoyed every film that I have seen Christopher Lee in but I especially liked him in the following: Dracula, The Curse Of Frankenstein, The Gorgon, The Star Wars Films, The Lord Of The Rings films, The Wicker Man, Horror Express, The Oblong Box, The Face Of Fu Manchu, The Hound Of The Baskervilles, The Hands Of Orlac, The Mummy, Dracula Prince Of Darkness, Rasputin The Mad Monk, Dracula Has Risen From The Grave, House Of The Long Shadows and Sleepy Hollow.

Great actor and human being.

Like Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing worked for Hammer Studios for a good part of his career.

As Lee, Cushing portrayed the detective Sherlock Holmes and, as Lee, made an excellent Holmes.

Cushing and Lee were very good friends and appeared together in a number of films from the Hammer Studios.

Lee generally played Dracula while Cushing played Baron Frankenstein or several variations of.

Another famous character that Peter Cushing played was that of Dr. Who in two films based on the BBC science fiction TV series Doctor Who.

Mr. Cushing also appeared on television in such programs as The Silver Swan, You Are There, BBC Sunday Night Playhouse, ITV Television Playhouse, Comedy Playhouse, Story Parade, Thirty Minute Theater, The Avengers, Sherlock Holmes, Great Mysteries, Space 1999, Hammer House Of Horror and Tales Of The Unexpected among others.

In an interview published in 1964 in ABC Film Review Cushing said  "People look at me as some sort of a monster but I can't think why. In my macabre pictures, I have either been a monster maker or a monster destroyer, but never a monster. Actually, I'm a gentle fellow. Never harmed a fly. I love animals and when I'm in the country I'm a keen bird watcher."

In a later interview in 1966 Cushing added, "I do get terribly tired of the neighborhood kids telling me that 'My mum says she wouldn't want to meet you in a dark alley,'".

Cushing's best known appearance outside of the horror genre was that of the Grand Moff in the original Star Wars film.

He turned down the role of Dr. Sam Loomis in the original 1976 Halloween film. That role went to Donald Pleasance.

Cushing was made an Officer Of The British Empire in recognition of his contributions to the acting profession both in Britain and worldwide.

He was married to Viola Helene Beck from 1943 until her death in 1971.

Peter Cushing passed away in 1994 at age 81 from prostate cancer.

Like Christopher Lee, I always enjoyed the film performances of Peter Cushing. My particular favorites were The Curse Of Frankenstein, The Evil Of Frankenstein, The Mummy, The Gorgon, Horror Express, The Hound Of The Baskervilles, Dracula, The House That Dripped Blood, Sword Of Sherwood Forest, Island Of Terror, The Skull, The Creeping Flesh and Star Wars.

I remember Ed Gilbert best as Fenton Hardy in The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries in which I though that he made the perfect dad-detective. I also enjoyed him in the films 36 Hours and Johnny Got His Gun as well as the voice of Francois in The Rescuers Down Under.

Though George Cleveland played many roles as Pop, Gramps, Grandpa and Old Timer he also assayed many roles as a judge and as a sheriff. and often he appeared in the role of a doctor.

Cleveland's main association with television is the role that he will most probably best remembered for and that is the role of Gramps in the Lassie TV series. He played Gramps from 1954 until his death in 1957.

He was married twice. His first wife's name was Helen. His second wife was Victoria Bateman and they were married in 1910. No other info was given on his second wife.

George Cleveland passed away in 1957 from a heart attack.

Many of the Lassie TV shows are now available on DVD and though they had different characters along the way for the different owners of Lassie, George Cleveland is the one that stood out for me as far as the elders were concerned. He was perfect for the part of Gramps to Jeff, the original owner of Lassie.

I also enjoyed George Cleveland in the films The Devil And Daniel, Abroad With Two Yanks, Pillow Of Death, Courage Of Lassie, Albuquerque, Flaming Feather, Cripple Creek and The Wistful Widow Of Wagon Gap.

                                                                            McLintock/ Katherine Gilhooley McLintock

Per Quinlan's Film Stars:

Hollywood's favorite red haired, hazel eyed Irish colleen. A strange combination of gentleness and high spirits. She was memorable as staunch wives or spitfire village girls in several John Ford films.

She was born Maureen Fitzsimmons at Dublin, Ireland in 1920.

Growing up Maureen liked rough athletic sports and had an equal gift for performing. She won many awards and by age 14 she was accepted by The Abbey Theatre and pursued her dream of classical acting and operatic singing.

This goal was changed when Charles Laughton noticed her and got her to star in Jamaica Inn with him. It was Laughton that got her to change her name from Fitzsimmons to O'Hara since it would fit on the marquee better.

Under contract to Laughton, her next film was in America and it was the 1939 version of The Hunchback Of Notre Dame which also starred Laughton.

Her contract to Laughton was bought out by RKO and she was at the top at the age of 19 and she stayed there.

As noted before, in addition to her natural beauty she had a fine lyric singing voice and natural athletic ability. With her athletic prowess she could do a lot of physical feats that other actresses could not, like fencing and fisticuffs.
