Per Quinlan's Film Stars:

Although ( or perhaps because) copper haired Debra Paget had the kind of figure that makes men walk into posts, Twentieth Century Fox , who signed her at 15,  cast here in demure roles. She lacked the animation to make much of these, apart from her Indian girl in Broken Arrow, but director Fritz Lang saw her come to life in a harem dance or two, and took her to Germany to play the Indian Princess in his two film saga of  1958, in which she was remarkably effective .

Born Debralee Griffin at Denver, CO in 1933, she had acting in her blood coming from a show business family and being the offspring of "a stage mother" who wanted her kids in the movies.

Her parents, Margaret Allen, a former actress and Frank Griffin, a painter, moved tom Los Angeles in the 1930's to be close to the motion picture industry.  Debra was enrolled in the Hollywood Professional School.

Her sister Teala Loring got her movie breaks in the 1940's. Her other sister Lisa Gaye was a movie and TV star in the 1950's and 1960's. Her brother Frank landed some film jobs as well.

Ms. Paget's first performing job was at the age of 8. She got some state experience at age 13 where she appeared in a production of Shakespeare's of The Merry Wives Of Windsor.
