Blonde haired, sharp faced, ruthless looking, tall, slim Australian actor ( born in Nigeria) who, despite such distinctive looks has played an amazing variety of roles.
Hugo Wallace Weaving was born in 1960 at Austin Nigeria of English parents.whose father was a seismologist and mother was a teacher and tourguide.
The family spent time traveling between Britain, Nigeria and Australia due to his father's jobs.
While in England he attended the Downs School, Wraxall near Bristol and Queen Elizabeth's Hospital. After his family moved back to Australia he attended Knox Grammar School in Sydney. He graduated from Sydney's National Institute of Dramatic Arts in 1981.
During his three year stay in England he showed early promise in theater productions
Weaving's first major role was in 1984 in the Australian television series Bodyline . He also appeared in the Australian miniseries The Dirtwater Dynasty in 1988 and the drama Barlow And Chambers: A Long Way From Home.
He also starred opposite Nicole Kidman in the 1989 TV Miniseries Bangkok Hilton.
Weaving won the Australian Film Institute's Best Actor award for his role in the film Proof.
His film debut came in 1981 in the film Maybe This Time as a student.

He has suffered from epilepsy since he was 13 years old. Though he had not had any seizures in years, he refuses to get a drivers liscense.
Weaving has lived with long time girlfriend Katrina Greenwood since 1984 . They live in Sydney and have had two children together.
Two of his sisters, Samara and Morgan, are actresses.
In 2004, Weaving has become an ambassador for Australian animal rights organization Voiceless, an animal protection institute. He attends events, promotes the organization in interviews and assists them in their judging of animal grant recipients.
I have enjoed Mr. Weaving in the Hobbitt and Lord Of The Rings films as well as The Wolfman, V For Vendetta and The Matrix.
