Per Quinlan's Film Stars:
This Hollywood actress of the 1970's and 1980's is facially a throwback to the slinky sultry film noir blondes of 20 years before - but with a kooky sense of humor which has caused her to be cast successfully in high comedy.

After the death of her father, her mother Phyllis returned to Hollywood where she worked as a wardrobe mistress for films and television.

Closer reported in 2015 that she credited her positive attitude and support of her family as helping her fight the disease.
Not only is Teri Garr a great actress but she is also a very brave person to continue to fight and move on with her life. considering her medical condition.
Teri Garr impressed me in the films Tootsie, Close Encounters Of The Third Kind, Michael, Oh God, One From The Heart, Black Dahlia and The Black Stallion.
However she impresses me more with her strength and courage to overcome the adversity in her life.
