Sir Lancelot
He was born Lancelot Victor Edward Pinard at Cumuto, Trinidad British West Indies ( now Togago) in 1902 to Anglophile parents.
He went to school in New York City and it was there that he discovered a love of calypso music.
Many artists in the calypso field took names like Lord or King, it was natural for him to add Sir to his original name of Lancelot.
Sir Lancelot wrote and performed calypso music for films, theater and radio beginning in the 1940's.
In addition to performing calypso music, he also did some acting on the side.

He also appeared on television in the series Lux Video Theater, Father Knows best and The Andy Griffith Show.
Sir Lancelot passed away in 2001 from natural causes.
I enjoyed him in the films I Walked With A Zombie, Brute Force , Curse Of The Cat People, To Have And Have Not and Romance On The High Seas.
I always enjoyed him in performancse of calypso type music.
