Soon-Teh Oh is a Korean American actor who is often though of as Japanese.

He was born at Mokpo, Korea while it was under Imperial Japanese rule.

He and his family emigrated to the United States when he was in his teens.

Oh attended high school at at Gwangiu, Korea and attended Yonsei University in Seoul. After he moved to America he attended the University Of Southern California and then later received a MFA from UCLA. Mr. Oh also studied acting at the Neighborhood Playhouse.

He appeared on Broadway in Stephen Sondheim's musical Pacific Overtures in the female role as Tamate in Kabuki style as well as three other parts namely a samurai, a storyteller and a swordsman.                                           

He was one of the earliest East-West Players, an Asian American theater group founded in 1965. In 1995 he founded the Korean American  Theater Group and The Society of Heritage performers which later on became the present Lodestone Thaeter Ensemble. This organization was formed after  the Lo s Angeles riots that reignited  racial stereotypes. Oh's continued efforts to present more accurate portrayals  of Asian American culture on stage has been significant.

Oh's film debut came in 1966 in the film Murderer's Row. His television debut came in 1965 in the American TV series I Spy.

I enjoyed this actor in the films Missing In Action 2-The Beginning, The Man With The Golden Gun, The Return Of Charlie Chan, Beverly Hills Ninja, Death Wish 4-The Crackdown as well as the many quest appearances he has made in various TV series.
