She was born Gabriella Joyce Kobe in 1932 at Hamtramck, MI.

Ms. Kobe graduated from the UCLA earning a fine arts degree in theater and dance.

She was basically an actress on television and later moved into being a producer for various television programs. She had 81 credits as an actress (basically TV) as well as 6 credits for producing when she moved behind the camera.

The only references to her movie roles were these:

East Of Eden (1955) as A Student

The Ten Commandments (1956) as Pretty Slave Girl

Destination Space (1959-TV) as Kim

Gunsmoke In Tuscon (1958) as Katy Porter

The Legend Of Lizzie Borden (1975-TV) as Alice Russell

During the 1950's and 1960's Ms. Kobe made many appearances on various television series. Such TV programs were Dragnet, The Millionaire, Highway Patrol, Crusader, Alfred Hitchcock presents, Dr. Hudson's Secret Journal, Studio 57, Schlitz Playhouse Of Stars, The O. Ms Kobe after 1972 left acting and went to behind the camera working as a producer for the following TV series:

Guiding Light (1984 - 1986)  Executive Producer- 4 episodes

Texas (1981) as Supervising Executive Producer - 92 episodes
          (1981 - 1982) as Executive Producer - 387 episodes

The People's Court (1981) - Producer - entire series

The Edge Of Night (1979-1980) -Supervising Producer - 133 episodes

Return To Peyton Place (1972) - Associate Producer

Ms. Kobe was married twice . Her last husband was Edward S. Lees and the marriage lasted from 1971 to 1972 but ended in divorce.

In 2008 , a Golden Palm Star on the Walk of Stars was dedicated in honor of Ms. Kobe.

In her spare time she volunteered many hours to the Eisenhower Medical Center and The Palm Springs Art Museum.

Gail Kobe passed away in August, 2013 at age 81 of undisclosed causes.

I always enjoyed Ms. Kobe's performances. Hers was a face that I would see many times on the small screen. It's hard to pick out a particular performance,but her addition to the episode always made it worthwhile.
