Russ Conway was a popular character actor in films and television.

He was born Russell Zink at Brandon, Manitoba, Canada in 1913. He was the brother of another Canadian born actor, Donald Woods.

Mr. Conway earned a B. A. degree in 1937 from the University Of California. A number of years later he procured a masters degree in performing arts from UCLA as well as teaching credentials.

Conway totaled up 239 credits in the mediums of films and television in a career that lasted from 1947 through 1977.

His film debut came in 1947 in an non credited role in the film Buck Privates Come Home.

Conway appeared eight times on Lloyd Bridges' Sea Hunt, four times on Bonanza and three times on Rawhide . There were a number of TV series that he appeared on multiple times in different episodes

He retired from acting in 1977 and spent the last 33 years of his life away from the acting profession.

He was married to Muriel Morrison from 1946 to 2006 which was  the time of her death. The couple had two children.

Russ Conway passed away in December, 2009 in his sleep at age 95 of natural causes.

I enjoyed Mr. Conway in his many TV guest appearances as well as the films War Of The Worlds, Safari Drums, Tomahawk, Love Me Tender, The Screaming Skull, Fort Dobbs, Tall Man Riding, Killer Leopard and My Six Convicts.
