Lewis Martin was an American character actor of stage, television and films.
He was born in 1895 at San Francisco, CA.
His career ran from 1949 until 1967 in the mediums of film and television and racked up 117 credits in these mediums.
Martin was also active on stage making his Broadway debut in 1925 in the production of Lucky Sam McCarver. He was successful on Broadway and appeared in sixteen plays between 1925 and 1950.
He made his film debut in 1950 in the film The Blazing Sun and his first TV appearance was in 1949 on Kraft Theater.
Generally in films and television he usually played respectable figures such as police officers, military men, judges and ministers or priests though he did throw in a villain every now and then ( The Whip Hand and Night Freight).
