Don Mitchell was an American actor who was best known for his role as Mark Sanger on the TV series Ironside.
He was born at Houston, TX in 1943.
Mitchell studied acting at the University Of California.
Mitchell starred from 1967 to 1975 as Mark Sanger an ex convict who became Chief Ironsides body guard and assistant. He remained with the series from the debut movie until the end of the series. At one point in the series he joined the police force.

Mitchell appeared on other TV programs such as Mr. Novak, I Dream Of Jeannie, Bewitched, The Fugitive, The Virginian, Tarzan, Insight, The Bold Ones - The New Doctors, McMillan And Wife, Medical Story, Wonder Woman, Police Story, CHips, Capitol and Matlock.
With the exception of the TV Movie The Return Of Ironside, Sanger did very little after the end of the original Ironside series.
He was married twice: the first time to Emilie Blake and the second to Judy Pace. Both marriages ended in divorce. He had a daughter from his first marriage and two daughters from his marriage to Pace.
Don Mitchell passed away in December, 2013 at age 70 from natural causes.
I mainly remember Don Mitchell in the role of Mark Sanger in Ironside. I really enjoyed his role as Mark in this series.
